We collect the information needed to run BrainBoost responsibly.

Information You Provide:
• Account information such as your name, email address, phone number, institution, and academic preferences
• Seller application data including qualifications, motivation, and supporting documents
• Content you upload, including question papers, solutions, reviews, and review responses
• Payment information such as payer name, payer email, and mobile money transaction details
• Seller financial data including wallet balance, earnings history, payout requests, and upload incentive credits

Information Collected Automatically:
• Usage data such as pages visited, features used, and timestamps
• Device information such as device type, operating system, and browser type
• Authentication data such as login timestamps and authentication provider

Information from Third Parties:
• Name, email, and account identifier from Google Authentication when you sign in with Google
• Transaction confirmation data from payment providers such as Orange Money and MTN Mobile Money

We do not store mobile money PINs or passwords.

We use your information to provide and maintain the platform, process payments, manage seller earnings and payouts, send transactional messages, moderate content, improve the product, and communicate important updates about BrainBoost.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Payment processors to complete financial transactions
• Email service providers for transactional and operational communication
• Cloud infrastructure providers for hosting and storage
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by applicable law or to protect users and the platform

We retain data according to account status and legal needs.

• Active account data is kept while your account remains active
• Deleted account data is anonymized after a 30-day grace period
• Suspended or banned account data is retained to preserve moderation records
• Payment records are retained for accounting and legal compliance

You can manage core account data directly from your profile.

Access and Edit:
• You can view and update your personal information from your profile page
• Only you can edit your personal data; administrators cannot modify your profile details

Account Deletion:
• You can request account deletion from your profile settings
• A 30-day grace period applies, during which the request can be cancelled
• After 30 days, personal data is anonymized

Data Portability:
• You may request a copy of your personal data through our contact flow

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data.

• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
• API communications are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• Access to user data is restricted to authorized administrators

When moderation actions are taken on your account, BrainBoost records the reason and timestamp for accountability.

• Warning reasons and timestamps are logged and communicated to the affected user
• Suspension reasons, start dates, and end dates are recorded
• Ban reasons and timestamps are recorded
• Moderation history is kept to support transparency and platform safety

BrainBoost is designed for students at the secondary school and university level. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through platform notifications or other operational channels available at the time.
